My current practice is site-specific, free-standing, abstract figurative sculpture based on the shape of the triangle. The scale of the sculptures is chosen to fit the space the work is produced for. I work with ephemeral materails such as cardboard to reflect the transient nature of the human condition. The sculptures are constructed to capture the extremes of the figure in motion such as running, stretching and so on which aims to provoke the viewer into questioning the deliberately ambiguous form they are presented with.

I feel my works fits into the tradition of Tatlin and Conrad Shawcroft’s sculptural practice of utilising geometric shapes to create large structures. My practice also connects to  Anthony Gormly’s use of the figure in the space in which they are held and in the ways they communicate with each other.

I aim to develop further the human form through sculpture, to a point where they take on a life of their own. As each piece evolves into something new, I anticipate a lasting impression of the ambiguous form is left with the viewer.
